At DaVinci Dental Clinic, we understand that you may be a little worried about undergoing dental procedures, which is why we ensure we are with you every step of the way.
For people who require a comforting and assisting hand in reducing their anxiety and relaxing, we provide sedation. Intravenous sedation (IV sedation) is a type of sedation that allows dental treatments to be done while you are under the influence of a sedative administered via an injection.
It has a soothing, calming effect that makes it possible for us to provide treatment to you while you are conscious. It has a faster recovery time than general anaesthesia and may be used for a variety of treatments, including surgical operations like dental implants and basic professional cleanings.
If you have missing teeth and you feel anxious about the procedure you will be offered sedation to put you at ease and complete the treatment process.
But if you are unsure of the surgery or whether any alternatives exist to make the implant surgery as pleasant and painless as possible, it’s a good idea to speak with us about sedation.
Dental implant surgery is typically carried out at the dental chairside under local aesthesia. Sedation dentistry may, however, be required in some circumstances. If a patient has dental phobia or anxiety and the dentist intends to execute numerous operations in a single sitting, for example, sedation dentistry might be beneficial.
Sedation dentistry is not suitable for everyone. Your dentist will conduct a thorough clinical examination and consult with your doctor to determine whether you are eligible.

Most patients will experience at least minor discomfort in the recovery period after undergoing this surgery. Ibuprofen is usually enough to treat pain in the chin, cheeks, or under the eyes. Patients should also use an icepack to help reduce swelling and eat soft foods.
The recovery time after surgery is quite short, typically lasting less than a week. Patients should rinse their mouths with warm salt water at least twice each day to minimize discomfort. Dental check-ups will be required on a regular basis to ensure that the implants have fused with the bone and healed properly. We are currently charging £250 per hour for this service.
